Does William Shatner Get Royalties from Halloween movies?

REEL Film Reviewed Asked the Question

It seems fitting that William Shatner should get royalties from John Carpenter’s Halloween, seeing as though it was his iconic face that made Michael Myers so creepy.

As we all know by now, the mask used in Halloween was a cheap Captain Kirk mask which they modified slightly by painting it white, cutting the eye holes out a bit, and dying the hair. Still, placing it side by side a Shatner modeled Captain Kirk mask, you can still see it’s roots.

William Shatner does not get royalties for the mask appearing in Halloween. But he still gets a kick out of it, wearing a Michael Myers mask one year to take his kids trick or treating. It does leave one wondering, with Star Trek success on top, if he did get paid royalties, how much richer would he be?
