Famed director and producer Robert Zemeckis is in the development stages of Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2, the sequel to the 1988 hit. Not much is known about the story including who will star in it, but we can bet one thing, with Robert Zemeckis involved, it can certainly be another hit.
Zemeckis wasn’t always known for his great directorial successes such as Forrest Gump, Flight, Cast Away, What Lies Beneath, in addition to producing hit TV such as Manifest, the hit new TV show. Manifest was cancelled by NBC but due to a public outcry by fans of the series to come back for another season, and after a slight battle, Netflix accepted and greenlit season 4 of Manifest. Netflix’s hit show “The Movies That Made Us” features several of Zemeckis’ films to include Back to the Future with Michael J. Foxx and Forrest Gump with Tom Hanks, which told the true behind the scenes stories about how those box office hits were almost not made at all.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was a surprise beloved classic combining animations with live action and most say that a sequel is unnecessary. Some may be inclined to agree but others could be riding the faith that Robert Zemeckis has so rightfully earned.
